Mr. Yogeshwar Sangwan,

Ambassador of India to the Republic of Paraguay

Ambassador Yogeshwar Sangwan joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1994. He has served in the Indian Missions in Iran and Romania. He was Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Tehran from 2012-2016. He was Ambassador of India to Armenia and Georgia from 2016-2019.

Prior to his current assignment in Asuncion, Ambassador Sangwan was Joint Secretary (Multilateral Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs. Earlier he was Protector General of Emigrants in the Ministry from 2020-2021.

Born on 1 January, 1970, Ambassador Sangwan has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Ambassador Sangwan is married to Mrs. Indu Chahar and has two children. His interests include books, movies and outdoor sports.

Ambassador Sangwan assumed charge as Ambassador of India to the republic of Paraguay on 5 February, 2022.
