Dr. Piyush Singh

Ambassador to the Republic of Paraguay

 

Dr. Piyush Singh is from the 2007 batch of the Indian Foreign Service. He did graduation (MBBS) from GSVM Medical College, Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), and post-graduation from School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University, New York (USA).

He served at the Embassy of India in Cairo from 2009 to 2011, at the High Commission of India in Islamabad from 2014 to 2017, and at the Embassy of India in Berne (with concurrent accreditation to the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Holy See) from 2017 to 2021.

At headquarters, he served as Under Secretary in Americas Division from 2011-2014, and as Joint Secretary/Director in Multilateral Economic Relations Division from 2021-2024.

He has served as India’s Sous-Sherpa for BRICS, India’s Sous-Sherpa for IBSA Dialogue Forum, and India’s Senior Officer for Asia Cooperation Dialogue. 

Dr. Piyush Singh is fluent in English and Hindi. He also speaks Arabic. He is married and has two children.
